How do we gather what we can of what we need, and take it with us? How can we learn to do nothing about it not always being quite enough? Does accepting “not quite enough” actually hurt us more than perpetually searching for it all?

Staying light on our feet gives us capacity. Capacity does nothing for us if we don’t use it to fill, carry, and hold what is needed. Barry Lopez points to the spectrum of human beauty and terror as parallel with a capacity (or incapacity) to love. That feels more right to me than most things anyone else or I have said.
